Instructor: Richard Jaynes

Richard is Skippy Blair and Golden State Dance Teacher Association trained, and is a Certified Judge of the National Dance Dynamics Certification Board of the World Swing Dance Council. The Judges Certification qualifies for judging any of the national 3 day swing competitions that report points to the World Swing Dance Council.

Richard is a Past president of Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club (RMSDC), past board of directors for RMSDC, current board of directors for the Denver Turnverein, Dance Instructor, Competition Judge and Swing Club DJ. Over the past 10 years I have attended about 95% of the RMSDC Sunday Dances. I’m always there and I dance with everyone, just ask if I haven’t asked you yet.

I started dancing country two step in 1984 and also dabbled with some ballroom dances but none of them really grabbed me. Then I began dancing West Coast Swing in 1996 and it quickly became my primary dance. With the obsession to learn as much as possible about this dance I began taking teacher and judges training with Skippy. The critical eye that I have developed for judging allows me to quickly see someone’s trouble areas and know what is needed to fix it. Be sure to book some private lessons to improve your dancing for competitions or the social floor.

I love to dance West Coast Swing. Therefore, I have contributed my time and effort to the Denver Turnverein, RMSDC and the WCS dance community to assure that West Coast Swing continues to grow in the Denver area. We have one of the best dance communities in the entire country and I want to see it get even better.
